The NEISD ESL programs are designed to support students in acquiring high levels of academic achievement by effectively addressing the linguistic, academic, cultural, and social needs of emergent bilinguals or English learners.
The ESL Curriculum supports the use of the Gradual Release of Responsibility instructional framework, a scaffolded approach to instruction that honors the diverse language and content learning needs of our newcomer students.
