My name is Candace Byler and I am THRILLED to be your Fifth Grade math and targeted support intervention teacher this year! I am sure that you are eager to know a little bit about the teacher that you will be spending the next year with!

I grew up in San Antonio, Texas, but spent several years of my childhood in Austin, Texas. When I was a freshman in high school, I moved back to San Antonio. I attended Reagan High School for my freshman and sophomore years, and then transferred to Johnson High School in 2008 (Go Jags!!!) for my junior and senior years. My class was the second graduating class at Johnson! I am SO excited to have the opportunity to teach at Cibolo Green and I’m even more excited that I get to teach future Jags! 

After high school, I attended the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘Em!), where I received my Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development. Teaching has always been in my blood - all of the women in my family are teachers, so I grew up knowing that I wanted to follow in their footsteps. This is my fifth year of teaching, and my second year of teaching 5th grade math and our wonderful targeted support groups. I have taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, 4th grade and 5th grade math. For my first two years, I was a 1st and 2nd grade teacher in New Braunfels, Texas. I am so excited to experience 5th grade math with you! It’s going to be such a fun year!

 When I am not at school, you will find me enjoying my time with family and friends, spending time on the river, lake and beach, hunting, fishing, traveling, snow skiing, reading, or watching basketball (Go Spurs Go!) and football (Hook 'Em Horns!).
