Mobile Makerspace

The Encino Park library houses a Mobile Makerspace for all students to participate in.  A Makerspace is a  place in which students can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, materials and knowledge.  Students use this exploratory learning space to build and engineer, create with arts and crafts, and design using technology.  Teachers will sign up for the Mobile Makerspace materials time for their class but there will also be times that we use the Makerspace during library class.  Sometimes we have  a curriculum goal in mind and other times we give students the freedom to create on their own.  The goal of Makerspace is to support creative thinking and problem solving in all our students.
