Hi! My name is Melissa Winterland and I am in my fifth year of teaching at Encino Park. I'm originally from Austin, but my family moved to Kentucky when I was in high school. I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor Degree of Science in 2004, and then obtained a Masters Degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands in 2009. This is my 17th year teaching - and my 7th year of teaching 3rd grade! 

I am married to Mr. Randy Winterland and we have 3 amazing children - my sons Riley, Payton, and my daughter Ava. The kids have all been students at our great school, and my sons are both at Johnson.  Our family also includes our fur babies Roxie (a chihuahua) and Pinot (our cat). In our free time you can find my family cheering on the Johnson Band and enjoying the outdoors: swimming, hiking, and enjoying time together as a family. We also enjoy watching the Chicago Cubs play baseball - go Cubbies!

I am so thankful for the career I have and look forward to this school year!
