How would you design the future?
Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE) High School Freshman Jimena Sanchez has an idea, and it’s an idea that just won her the Best Student Entry in the City of San Antonio’s ADU Design Competition.
ADU’s are accessory dwelling units or casitas. They are a priority for the city to help develop affordable housing amid rising living expenses.
Sanchez is an architecture student at LEE and her design reimagines an ADU in a more circular shape.
“I didn’t really want to a square house, something I see all around,” said Sanchez. “I wanted something different. I saw the question for it to be more accessible, that’s when I got the part to make a circle and make the house circular too.”
