Ms. Brandi Schonberg

Hello!

My name is Brandi Schonberg, and I will be teaching both on-level and Honors 8th grade science this year. This is my 15th year in education and my 10th year in science. I've taught middle school science in both the seventh and eighth grades. Additionally, I served for two years as a Science Instructional Coach for NEISD at Colonial Hills Elementary.

I have three adult children and one daughter-in-law. My youngest two children went to Jackson in 7th and 8th grade, and they still say it was the best school they ever attended! I taught at Jackson from 2016 to 2019, then moved to Fredericksburg. When I was ready to return to San Antonio, there was no question - I wanted to be back at Jackson...and here I am!

I have a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration and a Master's degree in Educational Administration. My first career was in healthcare (ten years in outpatient radiology, interventional radiology, and sleep diagnostics). Following that, I entered the world of education as a Special Education teacher, but quickly found my passion in teaching science.

I enjoy hiking, gaming, and, most especially, reading and writing. As a published author, I am actively writing several more fantasy and science fiction books in my spare time. Because I'm a super-nerd, I have big plans to start a D&D club this year.

8th grade is a crazy-busy year, but I hope to make science fun and understandable for my students. I am always available to talk with students and parents, and look forward to meeting each and every one of you!
