Mr. Christopher Silva

Christopher Silva is beginning his first year as the Head Band Director at Jackson Middle School. Prior to working at Jackson, Mr. Silva worked in Southwest ISD at McNair Middle School and Resnik Middle School. He stared his career as the director of bands at Somerset Junior High in Somerset ISD.


Mr. Silva is a graduate of the University of Texas San Antonio, with a degree in Music Education and a certificate in Tuba Performance. While at UTSA he played in numerous ensembles including the UTSA Wind Ensemble, the inaugural season of the Spirit of San Antonio marching band, and was a founding member of the UTSA Student Brass Quintet. Professionally, he has served as the Middle School Region Coordinator of Region XI and has been the Guest Conductor for the UTSA Summer Band Institute.


Mr. Silva's profesional affiliations include TBA, TMEA, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. While not at work, Mr. Silva is an active performer and conductor of the Pride of San Antonio Showband. He is also an active musician in the Mariachi community, playing trumpet with Mariachi Alma Del Sol. He also enjoys relaxing at home with his wife and son.
