Johnson JROTC kicks off Veterans Day program

Johnson High School held its annual Veterans Day program on Friday, Nov. 9. During the opening ceremony the Johnson JROTC Honor Guard presented the colors and service flags in the auditorium. Veterans and active service members in attendance stood to be recognized and the Johnson choir performed the national anthem.

Following the retirement of the flags, the Johnson armed drill team performed a routine for the battalion and guests. Cadet Major Bradley Knight read the poem “In Flanders Field” before retired Air Force Colonel Tim Sutherland shared his experience in the military service. When the ceremony drew to a close, cadets stood to recite their cadet creed for all to hear.
