Best Friday Ever?
Bouncy house obstacle courses, reusable water balloons and a visit from H-E-Buddy!
We’re not saying it was the best Friday ever, but the Hardy Oak Elementary School students might be.
Hardy Oak partnered with their PTA, H-E-B and the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) to create an unforgettable field day focused on military-connected students and their families.
Before the students got a chance to run amok during field day, they held an assembly to hear from military-connected students and teachers. Hardy Oak Principal Catherine Leach shared how she grew up a so-called “military brat.”
Reagan High School’s JROTC students joined the fun to help man different stations and play games with the elementary students.
North East ISD knows how important our military families are and strives to provide them with the resources they need during those tough transitions. Every NEISD school has a Student 2 Student (S2S) program. Members of S2S are on the front lines when new students arrive on campus. They give them tours, eat with them at lunch and provide a friendly face in a new environment.
Also, 65 NEISD campuses have earned Purple Star Designations by the Texas Education Agency. Our schools have earned that distinction because of the work they do to excel at meeting the needs of military students and their families.
