Donation shows community comes first at Harmony Hills

$320 donation from Councilman Courage to Harmony Hills.

Community comes first at Harmony Hills Elementary School. The relationship between the campus and Councilman John Courage, City Council District 9, has been a cornerstone in the neighborhood for years. This week, it grew even stronger with a $320 donation from Courage to Harmony Hills.

“Part of its going directly to the school and the rest is going to our PTA,” said Lupe Negley, Harmony Hills Family Specialist. “Part of my job is to include and involve the community as much as we possibly can. I reach out to Councilman Courage for school supply donations and other things we need. He loves our school and we really appreciate the support.”

The donation stems from a blood drive with the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center. Councilman Courage chose to donate his funds to a school that’s close to his heart – Harmony Hills. Negley says they plan to use the money to fund an incentive program for students showing improvements in class, good behavior and leadership skills.

Thank you, Councilman Courage!
