Working With Your Chromebook

  • With the majority of resources that we use on a daily basis living in the cloud, a Chromebook is proving to be an excellent device for staff members to use when they don't have access to a traditional laptop.  From the ability to access the Microsoft Suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint. OneNote, etc.) and Microsoft Teams for instant messaging and video conferencing support, to the ability to print to copier machines and share information to projectors via Airtame, the Chromebook gives you most of the same functionality as a laptop.  Additionally, once you are logged into the Chromebook, you have access to your Google Drive where you can store all of your important files.

Please see the information below to learn how you can use your Chromebook to meet your daily needs here in NEISD.

Microsoft Office & Teams

  • Access Email, Teams, OneDrive, and all your favorite Microsoft 365 applications

Most of the work that we do these days takes place online.  If you have an internet-connected device, you can get to just about everything you need.  Microsoft 365 provides access to a suite of applications that you are used to using, but delivers them to you online instead of having to be installed on your device.

Projecting with Airtame

  • If you ever find yourself needing to project your Chromebook screen to a projector, you can do so using Airtame.  In order for this to work, the projector must be equipped with an Airtame device.  This is easy to determine simply by turning on the projector to see if Airtame connection information appears on the screen.  If it does, you are in business.   Simply follow the directions below to get yourself connected.
