Adding and Paying a Fine with Insignia ILS
Adding a Fine for a Damaged Book (use this method if no refund will be processed in the future)
- If the damaged item is still checked out to the patron open the Check In screen
- Select the Options button and select the highlighted Options
- Once the option is visible, check the Check In Damaged Items checkbox
- Scan the damaged item
- Enter the fine being assessed and any relevant notes
When the Item is not checked out to the patron
- Open patron's record in Checkout
- Select the Collect Fines tab
- Click the Ad Hoc Fine button
- Change Fine Type, if necessary
- Enter barcode in Title field if fine will be attached to an item
- Click Find Title By Barcode button
- Enter fine amount and any necessary notes
- To Pay or Waive the Fine, return to the Collect Fines Tab and select the fine to be paid
- Click Waive or Collect buttons
- Enter amount collected or waived and click OK button
- An entry must be entered into the note field when waiving a fine
- Click the Print button and select Receipt
- Select date of interest and click OK
- Print 2 receipts (one for patron and one to keep for your records)
**If the book is not going back into the collection and cannot be circulated, be sure to checkin the item to release the student of the checkout and then Weed the item from the catalog.
