Aero CHI | Hallmark University

North East ISD is pleased to announce a partnership with Hallmark University to provide the Aerospace College Headstart Institute (Aero CHI) to our North East students. Aero CHI is an FAA approved college-level program designed to prepare students for a career in aerospace manufacturing and maintenance.

The Hallmark University Aerospace College Head-start Institute (Aero CHI) is a program to give high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to prepare for a career in one of San Antonio’s anchor industries – Aerospace.

What is a Magnet Program?

  • Magnet programs at NEISD are dynamic and rewarding pathways to college, trade schools, or in-demand careers.
  • We provide programs that give students a clear advantage after graduation.
  • Through the Career Technical Education (CTE) department, NEISD is able to offer courses on our middle and high school campuses—giving students the chance to maintain friendships and mentorships at their home campus.
  • Each year CTE courses are able to provide students the opportunity to earn industry-based certifications and credit at little to no cost.

Through our partnership with Hallmark University, NEISD is able to give students the ability to:

  • Graduate with 30 semester credit hours or nearly half of an AAS degree in Airframe Technology—which saves over $11,000 in tuition if continuing at Hallmark University.
  • Put students in a position where they are less than 12 months away from earning an aviation technician associate’s degree at Hallmark University.
  • How does Aero Chi work?

    • Students study at Hallmark University, which has trained San Antonio’s civilian aerospace workforce for 49 years and produces more FAA licensed Airframe & Powerplant technicians than any other program in Texas.
    • The College of Aeronautics at Hallmark University simulates an aviation workplace environment so students learn to become airframe and powerplant technicians in a real-world setting on the flight line at San Antonio International Airport.
    • After completion of the Aero CHI program and graduating high school, students are less than 12 months away from earning an aviation technician associate’s degree at Hallmark University.
