“I’ve been blessed to be here for this long.”

Hector Cervantes and the Johnson HS Custodial CrewHector Cervantes has been finding a way to get the job done at Johnson High School since it opened in 2008.

“The administration here has always been good to me,” said Cervantes. “That’s what keeps me here.”

He started as a custodian and worked his way up to head custodian, where he leads his team with quiet confidence and unwavering support.

New Teacher Orientation is traditionally held at Johnson. That means Hector and his team worked quickly to make the school shine for our newest educators. Their work speaks for itself.

“We work hard and do everything we can to make sure this place looks good. I’ve been blessed to be here for this long.”

When Hector and his team were brought on stage in the auditorium Tuesday, they received rapturous applause and a standing ovation. It was an emotional moment that was well-earned and deserved.

That’s what Hector loves about Johnson. He can feel the appreciation and support. It keeps him going and keeps him coming back.

“No matter what, we find a way to get the job done.”
