Lucy Jimenez is the Cafeteria Manager at Vineyard Ranch.

She’s been there since the school opened in 2012.

Her son went to Vineyard Ranch.

And now her grandchildren attend the school she has helped grow.

“I like to serve. I like to serve others, whoever, kids, adults, you know all my staff,” said Jimenez. “Cooking for somebody means the whole world because I can see smiles in the kids. That fills my heart.”

Not only does Lucy provide service with a smile, but she can also provide service in two languages, English and Spanish, which is vital to her community and this dual-language campus.

“The good thing is I speak both languages, so I can help a lot of families that don’t speak English,” said Jimenez. “So, that is why I feel my job is very, very valuable here at Vineyard Ranch.” 

Her philosophy is pretty simple.

Put something sweet into every child, and it will make a difference.
