BA Interdisciplinary Studies Early Childhood - 6th Grade English as a Second Language Certification

Miss Samantha Coulter

Welcome to second grade! My name is Samantha Coulter and I am beyond excited to meet my new little friends and their families! This is my first year officially teaching at Vineyard Ranch, but I was lucky enough to do my student teaching right here at the Ranch in a second grade class and also was a substitute here frequently.  I recently graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am also ESL certified.

I am very close to my family. I grew up with my mom, dad, fraternal twin sister Lexi, and my older sister Rashel. Fun fact, my twin sister, Lexi, doesn’t look like me at all! She has stick straight blonde hair and we have completely different personalities. My older sister Rashel lives in Indiana and gave me my first sweet nephew about a year ago!

Growing up, my family and I moved around a lot. I was born in Indiana and lived there until I was ten. I still consider myself a Hoosier and am an Indianapolis Colts fan! I then moved with my family to a town in south Florida called Wellington.  It was fun to live so close to the beach and not too far from Disney World! I moved from Florida to Michigan in the middle of eighth grade. While I didn’t actually live in Michigan for very long, Michigan is one of my favorite places on the planet. Most of my extended family lives in the state and I grew up going there every year. My grandma June lives on Lake Huron and I love to swim in the lake! The last place that we moved was to San Antonio right before I started high school. I am a proud NEISD graduate of Johnson High School! I am thankful that I had the opportunity to live in different states throughout my childhood. I have wonderful memories from every place!

When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy swimming, going to the movies, traveling, baking, playing games, and attending concerts. I also am always cuddling with my dog, Sophie!

I can’t wait for this school year! We are going to have a wonderful time. I am dedicated to providing a loving, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all of my students so that they can grow in every way. I am looking forward to a great year!
