Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Sharon Hannah

Hello Broncos!

My name is Sharon Hannah.  I am starting my 1st year of teaching at the Ranch and my 22nd year of teaching.  Before being blessed to work at the Ranch, I taught for 10 years at Northside ISD at two campuses Northwest Crossing and Knowlton Elementary. Before that, I lived in Corpus Christi and taught for 11 years at Meadowbrook Elementary.  I have only ever taught fifth grade and I love it!

I graduated from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi with a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am certified to teach Early Childhood through sixth grade, English as a Second Language, and Science 4th-8th grade.  In 2018, I graduated from Our Lady of the Lake with a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

My husband and I have been married for 23 years.  We have 2 amazing children. My daughter has finished her journey with NEISD and graduated from Johnson in 2021. She is enjoying college life. My son will be a Junior at Johnson and is a part of the Cybersecurity magnet school. My favorite thing to do is spending time with my family and friends.  We enjoy watching movies, traveling, and trying new restaurants.  I was lucky enough to grow up with a Mom as an elementary librarian. She instilled a love of reading in me. I spent many summers helping her get her library ready for the next year. I feel like those experiences helped lead me on this career path.

My favorite things about teaching is being able to build a relationship with the kids and seeing their progression of growth regardless of their starting point.   When a student is struggling through something but they finally get it, that is one of the most rewarding experiences of teaching.  I try to cultivate an environment of support, fun and hands-on teaching.  My belief is that if you cultivate hands on experiences it helps give students a foundation of their knowledge and they can build from there.

I am looking forward to this year with you and I hope that you are just as excited as I am!
