    Every NEISD campus has a Registered Nurse (RN) ready to aide your student. Additionally, Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Clinic Assistants (CAs), supervised by the RN, are at designated campuses.

  • Medication on Campus

    A reminder, per district policy, students are NOT ALLOWED to carry medications on campus. This includes medicated lip balms, cough drops and throat lozenges. In addition, students are NOT ALLOWED to transport medication to the clinic. Parents need to bring in ALL medications to the clinic.

  • Hearing and Vision

    Hearing and Vision Screenings are required by the state and are taking place now for all students in PK, K, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades.  Acanthosis Nigricans Screenings are also being conducted on 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades.  The screenings will be completed before the end of the first semester.  You will not receive any information if your child passes the screenings.  If the nurse identifies any concerns, she will contact the parent and refer for further evaluation if necessary.

    School nurses are a primary resource in recognizing and managing children´s health problems. School nurses have the professional education and expertise to function successfully in the separate complete systems of education and health care. NEISD school nurses are committed to each child´s individual development and safety.
