    Every NEISD campus has a Registered Nurse (RN) ready to aide your student. Additionally, Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Clinic Assistants (CAs), supervised by the RN, are at designated campuses.

  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

    An AED is a computerized device that can check a person's heart rhythm, recognize a rhythm that requires a shock and deliver the needed shock. We have 6 AED's on our campus and they are accessable and easy to use.

    • 2nd Floor Foyer
    • 3rd Floor Foyer
    • Auditorium Lobby
    • Adjacent to the Trainers' Office
    • Gym Lobby

  • Elevator Keys

    If at any time during the school year, your child is on crutches or in a wheelchair, please provide a doctor's note and an elevator key will be issued. 
    The charge for an unreturned elevator key is $25.00.

  • Health Concerns

    Please keep the nurse informed of all of your child's health needs. We encourage you to also email your child's teachers with any health concerns that may affect your child's academic needs. We will be glad to assist your child in any way that we can to ensure that they are successful in school and in life. 

    **Emergency contacts are necessary. If an emergency contact phone number changes during the year, please call with the update or update the information through Parent Portal. Accidents do occur.

  • Medications at School

    Medication Administration Form

    • The “Medication Administration Request” must be completed and signed by both the parent and the physician.
    • All medication must be in the original container with correct dosage information on the label. No expired medications will be administered. 
    • All medications must be kept in the clinic. (With the exception of inhalers and some emergency drugs, with proper documentation.)
    • All medications must be brought to school and picked up by a parent. Please DO NOT send any medications to school with the student.
    • Over-the-counter medications may be left in the clinic all year with the “Medication Administration Request” signed by the parent and the physician.
    • Short term medications may be left in the clinic for 10 days with a parent note.
    • Forms must be renewed each school year.

School nurses have the professional education and expertise to function successfully in the separate complete systems of education and health care. NEISD school nurses are committed to each student´s individual development and safety.
