Mrs. Avitua
Hello! My name is Kristin Avitua and I am the Dyslexia Therapist at Royal Ridge!
I graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. While teaching in the Southwest ISD in San Antonio, I obtained my master's degree in Educational Leadership from UTSA in 2002. I am happy to be starting my 27th year teaching and my 22st year at Royal Ridge! I truly enjoy the students, parents, and faculty of Royal Ridge! We work as a great team!
I am a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and I provide small group direct instruction in Dyslexia using an Orton-Gillingham researched-based program. I also provide instructional support to teachers and students across the campus. This is my 6th year in this position at Royal Ridge and I absolutely love it! I look forward to working with you and your child!!
If you ever have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact me via phone/text 210-901-8206 or email kavitu@neisd.net. I look forward to hearing from you!
