Mrs. Celina Cannon

Hello Royal Ridge Families! I am Celina Cannon, and this is my 19th year teaching, but my 7th year in NEISD/Royal Ridge. I grew up in Judson ISD, and graduated from Judson HS. I then received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementarty Education, from Southwestern A/G University. I absolutely love what I do because I absolutely love working with children. I don't see this as a "job," it's my calling. My passion/goal every year in teaching, is to make a difference in the life of a child.

First and foremost, I put God first in my life. Everything else falls after, which leads straight into my family. Some of you may know me as "Ms. Rubio," but in December, I married my sweetheart and very best friend, Mr. Brett! I am beyond blessed for this new life together, and my children are just as blessed to have my husband as their bonus dad. My oldest, is my son EJ, who is a Junior this year. He's in Varsity orchestra at school, and is always willing to try new things. My middle child Ciera is a Sophomore, and she's my soccer girl. She's in club soccer, and plays Varsity soccer for Roosevelt. My baby Chloe, is an 8th grader and she's my competitive gymnast. My bonus son is Brody, and he's in fourth grade in Hondo, TX and he's also very involved in sports. Their activities keep me a busy mommy, but I love it. My family is my whole world, and I count my blessings daily.

I am also very into sports because that is how I grew up. My favorite sport to play is softball. I also love supporting my husband's military softball team he coaches, and the recreational softball teams he plays on . My fave teams to watch are the Dallas Cowboys, TX Rangers or Houston Astros (my husband is a Yankees fan). My favorite sport to watch on TV is basketball, which leads me to my favorite team: our SA SPURS!!! I am one of those crazy fans; one of the biggest fans! I love my team, even though there have been so many changes, and it's a little harder to watch. Go Spurs Go!

I look forward to a wonderful year with your child! I know school has changed so much with everything that has taken place in the past year and a half, but I would love for you to know that I will always be here for you and your child. I love what I do; I love building relationships, not just with my students, but their families; I love making memories and having fun in class; I love Kindergarten! This is my heart! I am beyond excited for what's in store!
