Mrs. Celina Cannon

Hello Royal Ridge Families! I am Celina Cannon, and this is my 21st year teaching, but my 9th year in NEISD/Royal Ridge. I grew up in Judson ISD, and graduated from Judson HS. I then received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementarty Education, from Southwestern A/G University in Waxahachie, Texas. I absolutely love what I do because I absolutely love working with children. I don't see this as a "job," it's my calling. My passion/goal every year in teaching, is to make a difference in the life of a child.

First and foremost, I put God first in my life. Everything else falls after, which leads straight into my family. Some of you may know me as "Ms. Rubio," but I got remarried in 2020, so my name changed! I am beyond blessed with an amazing husband, who loves meeting my classes and loves to be involved when he can. The class will hear and see a lot of Mr. Brett. We are the proud parents of four. Our oldest, is my son EJ, who  just graduated from DATA/Roosevelt, and will be a freshman at UIW.  My middle child Ciera is a Senior, and she's my Varsity soccer girl.  My baby Chloe, is a Sophomore and a Varsity cheerleader. My bonus son Brody will begin middle school in Hondo, TX. I'm a busy mommy, but I love it. My family is my whole world, and I count my blessings daily.

I am also very into sports because that is how I grew up in a home with five brothers and no sisters. My favorite sport to play is softball. I also love supporting my husband's military softball team he coaches, which we're both very involved with and do lots of traveling with them. My favorite teams to watch are the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros (my husband is a Yankees fan). My favorite sport to watch on TV is basketball, which leads me to my favorite team: our SA SPURS!!! I am one of those crazy fans; one of the biggest fans! I love my team, even though there have been so many changes, it's a little harder to watch. I AM looking forward to this new season with our #1 draft pick though. Go Spurs Go!

I look forward to a wonderful year with your child! I will always be here for you and your child. I love what I do; I love building relationships, not just with my students, but their families; I love making memories and having fun in class; I am excited about this new adventure in PreK, and look forward to what is in store.
