Royal Ridge Family, 

It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I write this letter as the Principal of Royal Ridge Elementary. I began my North East ISD tenure in 2008 as a teacher at Walzem Elementary and I’ve maintained a special affinity for the Roosevelt cluster since that formative experience. 

Prior to Royal Ridge I served as an assistant principal here in NEISD for seven years.  I look forward to working with you to build upon the successes and traditions that your hard work has made possible while continuing to innovate and prepare our students for the future. I am eager to partner with you to ensure your child’s success. 

I strongly believe the principalship is a position of public service. I am here to serve the needs of our students, staff, and the greater community. I find it imperative to:

• Stand up and advocate for what’s best for kids.
• Take time to honor each other’s work, especially when that work is invisible. Every person on the team matters from students to community members to classroom to cafeteria to custodial to support and office staff.
• Stay united in purpose and mission. Always hold our students, and each other, to the highest expectations. All kids deserve no less. 

Please feel free to call, email, or stop by to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas you might have throughout the year. My door is always open and I welcome your input. You will quickly notice that I will be quite visible around the campus. I am so excited to work with such an amazing faculty and community. Thank you for entrusting your precious children to the Royal Ridge staff and me.

Professional Background:

My name is Shannon Kalisky and I am currently the assistant principal at Royal Ridge.  I have worked in the district for 25 years as a teacher, counselor, and assistant principal.  This is my 12^th year at Royal Ridge and I am excited to be part of the Royal Ridge community!

I received my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin and my master’s degree in Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio.  I obtained my principal's certification from Lamar University. 

I am looking forward to another successful year here at Royal Ridge!
