Mrs. Rebecca Messimer
My name is Rebecca Messimer-Kitchen (pronounced Messy-mur). I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. Teaching is a big part of my family so it was only natural that I became a teacher as well. My father has been an elementary art teacher for almost 30 years, my mother was a clinical nurse educator before moving into the technical field, and my older sister is a Honor's Graduate counselor at The University of Texas at San Antonio. I am married to my wonderful husband, Charlie Kitchen, who works in arts non-profit, does art photography, and wood working. We have two very cute and spoiled dogs together, Slayer and Elam. I enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, gardening, reading, and cooking. I am also currently learning Spanish.
This will be my eighth year teaching at Montgomery Elementary! I previously taught Kindergarten and I will now be teaching First Grade. I am extremely excited to continue building on your students knowledge to help shape them into better readers, writers, and mathematicians.
