Greetings! My name is Angelica Benavides. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Business, with a concentration in Marketing, from Texas A&M-Kingsville in 1993. After college, I worked at the Glady's Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas. This was an exciting two years working in the public relations department and volunteering with the Zoo education department. My career path led me to a passion for teaching. I continued my education and completed my teaching certificate with a focus on Early Childhood Education. I walked into a classroom for the first time 21 years ago. I have had the privilege of teaching in Montgomery for 16 years and truly enjoy every single day here! 

 My teaching philosophy is based on respecting differences, exploring talents, and sharing my love for learning with my students. I believe we all have something to contribute and I learn so much from my students each day.

I love spending time with my dog and my family when I am not at school. My family is my support system and means the world to me. One of my favorite activities is family game night!  I love to hike, go to the movies, reading fiction books and trying new things.  I look forward to challenging students to learn, create, explore and build. I love coming to work every day. Working with children makes me happy and fulfilled.
