Ms. Amy Kamata
Greetings! Welcome to my 2019-2020 5th grade science classroom at Stone Oak Elementary in Room 19. This will be my 7th year teaching, and 4th year being a Stone Oak Bobcat! Please be sure to look at my All About Me tab to learn more.
I hope you had a good summer break--finding time to reconnect with yourself, family, and friends. For the first time in 9 summers, I did not work; I needed a break! However, I completed lots of appointments, volunteered at a 3-day Bug Camp, and volunteered at the Witte Museum on Free Family Nights. Have you ever been? My 2 daughters and I traveled to Iowa to visit family for a couple of weeks. We enjoyed eating fresh sweet corn, pickling beets, having campfires, and practicing driving skills with no traffic. My older daughter and I did a college visit to Chicago by Amtrak-- first time for us on this mode of transportation. My younger daughter attended a Camp Fire camp. I wonder what adventures you had this summer?
I look forward to meeting you and having a great year in 5th grade.
