• How Do the Field Trips Work?

Each year, over 4,000 elementary students visit Bradley's Mill Springs Cabin for a full-day Texas History Experience.

These lil' buckaroos will hop off their busses and gallop on over to the cabin grounds where they will rotate through 9 different Texas History-themed exhibits. At each exhibit, 7th and 8th grade Bradley students will deliver a prepared presentation and demonstrate professional docent qualities as they teach their students all about the artifacts and history of their exhibit. As 4th grade students rotate through the presentations, they will step back in time and experience aspects of Texas history such as pioneer living, and life on the chuckwagon train, and will even head home with their very own Lower Pecos rock art. These youngins will also learn about all the geographical splendors of the Texas landscape, in addition to the first native Texans and their lives on the vast Texas plains.

Field trips will be offered beginning in the second week of November and continuing on through May of the school year. There will be an off-season period from January to mid-February where field trips will pause.
