Mill Springs Cabin Founder, Mike Bailey

Mr. Bailey is a Churchill High School graduate who taught Texas History at Bradley Middle School for 25 years. During that time, he won many educator awards and acknowledgements including H-E-B’s Excellence in Education Lifetime Achievement Award and the Texas Humanities Award. In 1999, he established the Mill Springs Cabin docent program at Bradley Middle School. His program has welcomed thousands of students and guests over the past 27 years. He brings Texas History to life on the complex which includes an authentic 1800s cabin, general store, school house, chuckwagon, teepee and museum. His passion and dedication built the complex log by log.

Although retired from the classroom now, Bailey continues to work as a consultant for the Mills Spring Cabin, which still grows to this day thanks to his creative vision.
