My name is Lesvia Pena. This year will be my 23nd year in teaching and 20 years at Montgomery Elementary. I am married to my wonderful husband, Steven. We have three beautiful girls; Adriana, Erica and Laura. Everyday I am reminded how lucky I have been to have such a supportive and loving family; because of them, I am a better teacher.

In 2008 I was elected by my colleagues as the Trinity Prize nominee for my campus and in 2017 I was elected Teacher of the Year for my campus.  I strive to be the best teacher that I can be by empowering my students with self-perseverance. 

My goal is to continue to grow as a teacher and share the love of learning with my students. I am a proud alumni of The University of Texas San Antonio. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree and  I am ESL certified. My specialization is Reading, but I love Math, Social Studies and Science too.  Every year I receive professional development to learn new ideas and to keep up with our changing world. 

For the 2022-2023 school year, I will be teaching 1st Grade. I am excited about what this coming year has to bring.
