Welcome to Las Lomas Second Grade! I have been a 2nd grade teacher/grade level chairman at Las Lomas since we opened as a brand new school in 2012-13. Previously, I taught 2nd grade at Longs Creek Elementary and 3rd grade at Wilshire Elementary, as well as 2nd grade in the Omaha Public Schools.

I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. After moving to San Antonio, I earned my Master of Arts from UTSA.

This year 2nd grade will continue our focus on STEAM by integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math throughout our curriculum. We are very excited to find new ways to prepare our students for their future. Also, we will have lots of fun becoming better readers and writers by learning some fun "Secret Stories" that will help students learn why letters make the sounds they do when they get together in words. Expect your child to be sharing these stories with you.

I LOVE integrating technology across all areas of the curriculum allowing students to "show what they know" in many different ways. You will be able to see all the great things your child is learning through the Seesaw app.  I also enjoy helping other teachers with the technology integration process. I have done staff development on my campus, for the district, as well as presenting at state/national technology conferences.

I look forward to having a fantastic year and partnering with each family to instill a love of learning and excitement for school in each of my students. This promises to be a great year!
