I graduated from Southwest Texas State where I had the opportunity to do my student teaching in New Zealand with a focus in Early Childhood and Reading Recovery.  This was definitely a growing experience and also added another piece that fit into my puzzle of me absolutely loving to teach young children.  I have been teaching for 24 years. I have taught Kindergarten, Second, and Third grade. I even had the privilege of being one of the few teachers left here that opened Hardy Oak Elementary, and I am very thankful for the opportunity to be a part of such a great community and school.  

I hope to inspire, motivate, challenge, and nurture my students daily. I promise to create a fun, exciting, respectful, safe, engaging, welcoming, and a full of laughter environment that creates many opportunities for success and leadership. Your child will be celebrated, respected, challenged, and adored.  I believe in partnership, communication, and enthusiasm for learning. 

Aside from being a teacher, I am a mom to an eleven year old son.  He is my everything and main purpose in life.  I am also a widow who has a great respect for those who serve their country, because my late husband died as a Marine Officer.  So I choose joy daily, and I continue to focus on my son and my students.  I keep reminding myself lately to choose joy over worry, because my child is starting middle school. I am super excited for his additional opportunities to grow and blossom into who he is meant to be though. I also love my two rescue dogs Comet and Tanya.  They add so much love, joy, and comedy into our lives. We are obsessed with them, and they complete our small famliy of two.  So, as you can see, I am both a mom and teacher. I can relate to all the feelings and emotions that come with your child attending school. Please know that I will always treat your children with grace, love, and encouragement as if he or she was my own.
