Mrs. Cheryl Stocker

This is my 2nd year teaching 1st grade at Hardy Oak.  I absolutely love being a Hornet!  And, teaching 1st grade is pure joy.  I am blessed to be a part of the best team of teachers.

My husband, Robert, and I have been married for 25 years. We have 2 sons.  Jordan is 23, and just graduated from Texas Tech University.  He moved to Dallas to begin his career in Finance.  James is 21, and continuing at Texas Tech as a senior this year as a Finance major as well.  Our house is very quiet now that we are empty nesting.  We have 2 kitties that keep us company, Minx and Penny.  

When we are not visiting our kids in either Lubbock or Dallas, we love adventures outdoors like kayaking, hiking, trying new adventures, and spending time with friends.  My hobbies include gardening, exercising...especially walking, and refinishing furniture.

I grew up in the Cape Cod area of Massachusetts.  You will hear my accent.  Playing volleyball and basketball in high school was a passion of mine.   Texas has been my home since 1995, and I cannot say enough about my adopted home state.  I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida, previously teaching various grades in Florida, Indiana, and 1st grade in Pasadena, TX.  

I am so happy to have you in class this year.  We will do great things together.
