Ms. Charmaine McMillen

Hello, 

My name is Charmaine McMillen, and I am the gifted and talented facilitator for Clear Spring and Wilshire Elementary. This will be my 4th year at NEISD, and I am excited about the G.T. program's growth at both campuses! I have lived in San Antonio for 12 years.

I graduated in 2004 from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, with a B.S. in Elementary Education and from Walden University in 2021 with an M.S. in Educational Technology and Instructional Design. I began my teaching career in Texas, but have also taught in Florida and Hawai’i. This will be my 20th year in education as a classroom teacher. 

I am a proud mom of two sons, a University of Texas San Antonio Junior, majoring in Cybersecurity/Business, and another a first-year student, at Texas Tech University. 

I love STEM because it prepares students for the demands of the 21st century. I will incorporate all aspects of STEM or STEAM to make learning more engaging and help students collaborate, critically think, and communicate information by creating and exploring various topics. Students will use depth and complexity to expand and challenge their thinking. I believe all students can show their passions and potential through engaging lessons that challenge their thinking.
