Ms. Casey Tharpe

Hello, Wildcat families! My name is Casey Tharpe. I am a Special Education resource teacher here at Wilshire Elementary. This is my second year teaching.

I attended Trinity University and St. Philip's College, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and an Associate of Applied Science degree in surgical technology.

After college, I began my career in healthcare. I am a Certified Surgical Technologist and I worked at University Hospital for a few years. I assisted in many major surgeries during my clinical training, but my primary area of expertise is the sterile processing of surgical instrumentation.

I decided to make the switch from healthcare to teaching in 2019. I completed my student teaching at Wetmore Elementary here in NEISD and earned my teaching certificate in 2020. I was employed as a Special Education Co-Teacher at a charter school for a year, and now I am excited to be back in NEISD!

Feel free to contact me via email with any questions or concerns.
