Flu Season Information

FLU SEASON is in full swing! Per the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the flu is a serious contagious disease that can lead to hospitalization and even death. You have the power to protect yourself and your family this season with these three actions to fight flu. In order to keep our population at Harris safe and healthy, it is important that we all take everyday actions to stop the spread of germs.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, and avoid touching your face with your hands!
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, or cough/sneeze into your shirt or elbow
  • If you become sick, limit your contact with others to keep from infecting them --break the chain of flu spreading!

If your child is experiencing flu-like symptoms PLEASE do not send them to school. See the attached flyer and the website below if you have questions about if and when to see a doctor.  If your child has been diagnosed with the flu, please inform the clinic. If your student has a fever, they are to stay home until they are fever free without any fever-reducing medication for a full 24 hours. This prevents the spreading of infections through the school! With your help, we can keep Harris healthy and make sure our students stay Hawk Strong.
