Seniors teaching seniors

ALIR and CSi

Roosevelt High School seniors Tina Tse and Jaron Glaser are using what they’ve learned in the classroom to teach seniors in our community.

Tse and Glaser attend North East ISD’s Institute of CyberSecurity and Innovation (iCSI), where they learn about cybersecurity and protecting network systems from hackers. They are now sharing their knowledge with a class at ALIR.

ALIR is NEISD’s Academy of Learning in Retirement, which provides fun and informative classes for community members over 50.

This first student-led class left ALIRians with valuable information about anti-virus software and how to protect themselves from malicious emails, topics they are learning about in their classes at iCSI.

While this class is certainly helpful for the ALIRians, it’s also helping our students with presentation skills, communication and making sure they are truly grasping the concepts they are learning in class.

Our students are making a positive impact on our community #theNEISDway
