Take a “Paws” and Relax
No one really likes taking tests.
They can be stressful and anxiety-inducing.
However, the Roosevelt High School PTSA is turning a stressful situation into a triumph for the Rough Riders.
They recently hosted their second “Paws & Relax for Test Success” Event, and it’s quickly becoming a student favorite. The courtyard at Roosevelt is filled with students playing four square, working on art projects and petting therapy dogs.
“It’s kind of like a stress relief for our students,” said Roosevelt junior Ahlano Millsap. “It’s a time to let loose and have some fun with our friends.”
Millsap is part of Roosevelt’s Student 2 Student (S2S) team, which helps ensure military and new students feel welcome when they come to Roosevelt. The S2S students hosted the four-square games helping students let loose and shake off their nerves ahead of their upcoming tests.
The Roosevelt PTSA sponsors the event but is a collaborative effort with the Pruitt public library on campus, Therapy Animals of San Antonio and various student organizations.
When we work together, we can find success.
