Mrs. Duvina Ruby Gutierrez

Instructional Reading Coach

I was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. I received my Associate of Arts degree from Laredo Junior College and went on to pursue my bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Early Childhood and Bilingual Education from Texas A & M International University.

My first teaching assignment was in second grade. Subsequently, I got married and moved to San Antonio, Texas and began teaching kindergarten with North East ISD. While teaching kindergarten, I decided to go back to school and work on my master's degree. In 1996, I received my master's degree in Educational Administration from Texas A & M University-Kingsville. After teaching Kindergarten for four years, I went on to teach first grade for another seven years, then, back to teaching Kindergarten for four more years. Now, I am honored to be an Instructional Reading Coach. This is my 33rd year in education in which 31 years have proudly been with North East ISD. I look forward to another FABULOUS school year!

I love traveling, decorating, and spending time with my family. My husband of 30 years and I are so blessed to have three wonderful children and a beautiful fur baby...=)
