Mrs. Elizabeth Kinnison

My name is Elizabeth Kinnison , and I am a 5th grade special education  teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  I was born in Dallas, TX and lived there as a child. I grew up with 3 older half-sisters and many beloved pets. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in Early Childhood in 1998 at the University of North Texas, and became certified to teach.  After graduation, I took a career change to become a flight attendant with American Airlines. In 2002, I got married and became a Navy wife.  In 2005, my beautiful ginger-haired daughter, Audrey, was born. I became a stay-at-home mom for a little while. In 2016, I decided to go back to my first love, teaching. I wanted to try Special Education, so I became a Special Education Paraprofessional(assistant) at Canyon Ridge elementary.  I loved the job and the relationships I made, but knew eventually I would want to teach Special Education.  In 2023, I became certified to teach Special Education, and took the leap to become an ECSE/Special Education teacher for two years. This is my first year as a 5th grade resource/inclusion teacher. I am so excited to work again with the children I was with during my time as a special education paraprofessional. I missed them so much! In addition, I am so ecstatic to meet and get to know all the new 5th graders!
