Ms. Amerson

My name is Ms. Amerson (/A-mer-s-uh-n/).  I am excited to be your child's 3rd grade teacher!

This will be my second year at Canyon Ridge Elementary and my thirteenth year teaching full-time. I have taught and worked with students from Pre-K3 all the way to 8th grade.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University-San Antonio in May 2011 with my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-6 Generalist. In June 2012, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Master of Education from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. I also obtained my certification to teach English as a Second Language students, and Gifted and Talented students.  

I have been actively involved in various capacities in the classroom since 2005.  My experiences include Elementary Teacher Assistant for two years (Go Rattlers!), Substitute Teacher for a year, and a Project TEKS Tutor for the STAAR.

I am from San Antonio but have lived all over the United States. Reading and writing are two of my favorite activities. There is nothing like a good book. I highly emphasize reading both in the classroom and at home.  I enjoy spending time with my family.
