Student Council

Our student council represents our student body.  All officers are elected at the end of the school year.  At the start of the year, all class representatives will be elected in grades 3rd through 5th.  Please see Deya Delgado, Marie Arce, or Ana Bernal for more information if you are interested in being part of the Steubing Ranch Student Council.  

The mission of the Steubing Ranch Elementary Student Council is to help promote school spirit within the student body and to provide services that help local communities.  Student Council is dedicated to serving others and helping to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Steubing Ranch Elementary Student Council is organized to make our school a better place to work, learn and study. The council focuses on listening and solving the concerns of the students and the community it serves, in addition to promoting school spirit. Student Council enhances good leadership skills and sets an example for the Spurs students to follow school rules and promote good citizenship.

Two representatives from each third, fourth and fifth grade class make up the Steubing Ranch Student Council. They serve as class representatives for a one year term.   The student council is led by 6 officers that are elected by the council.  The officers are made up of the President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Historian and Spirit Chair.

The council meets one Wednesday a month at 7:00 in the morning. The representatives share ideas, make decisions and report the Student Council news to their classes. Then they are partnered with younger classes to share the news and any upcoming events and projects.  They also get ideas from their classes to bring back to council meetings such as ideas for spirit days, community activities, or which charities to support with fundraisers.

The goal of the Steubing Ranch Elementary Student Council is to experience the rewards of service work and leadership and to realize that the actions of a few CAN make a difference for many.
