Mrs. Kerri Puhl

Hello! I am one of two Physical Educaton teachers at Steubing Ranch Elementary who is most commonly known as "Coach Puhl." I have a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, a National Group Fitness Certification, I am CPR & AED certified and I am the past Water Sports Chair for the Recreation Div. for TAHPERD (Tx., Assoc. for Health, PE, Recreation & Dance Assoc.).

I have been married for 27 years and have 3 children, who I often talk about in class. My husband is a Chiropractor, my oldest daughter Graduated from the University of Virginia, my son recently graduated from Southwestern University and played basketball all four years for them and my youngest daughter is a nursing student attending The University of Texas at Austin. My husband and I are now Empty Nesters, but we are excited about having more time for the fun hobbies we get to do. We both enjoy hiking excursions, playing a variety of sports (Pickleball was the Summer favorite), taking road trips and reading are other favorites when there is time. We also have 2 crazy dogs that keep us busy.

This will be my 21st year in education and I am as passionate and excited about teaching today as I was the first day I started. I love seeing kids moving, learning, laughing, collaborating and working hard Movement is life!

We do many fun activities in P.E. and I am so excited about some of the new things that I will try to introduce this year such as 9 Square in the Air, Birdie Ball Golf and Pickleball. Some of the other units we will cover will be Gymnastics, Volleyball, Noodle Hockey, Jump Rope, Obstacle Courses, Basketball, Crazy Games, Cup Stacking, Fitness Stations, Shark Week and so much more!  In PE, we also organize an annual school-wide Jingle Bell Walk, a Cardio Club for 3rd-5th graders during class and A Water Field Day.

My main goal for kids is to find something (hopefully many things) they love and continue to do, and more, in the future. I also want kids to understand the importance of being healthy and physically fit for life!

This will be quite a different year just like it was last year, but together it can still be fun and beneficial with a positive attitude.  We are in this together!
