Ms. Suzanne Friou

I am so excited about my third year as a special education teacher at Steubing Ranch Elementary!  I have taught school for over 17 years, primarily as a general education teacher in fourth and fifth grade.  I was inspired to become a special education teacher my by best friend, who is an ALE teacher in our distict.  It is both a rewarding and challenging position, and my students are an inspiration to me.

I graduated from the Univeristy of Mississippi, as a journalism/psychology major.  I'm the mother of three girls, Caroline, who works in public relations at Tulane University; Rebecca who attends design school in Colorado; and Olivia, who is majoring in social work at Texas State University.  Teaching allowed me to be on their same schedule, so I was able to spend more time with them as they grew up.

In my spare time, I draw and paint, do calligraphy, and am an avid fan of Netflix.  I have a cat named Finn, and soon will be mom to a mini Goldendoodle.  

 Again, I look forward to a new year with your children!
