Hello PK Parents and Community🙂,

Welcome to my teacher webpage. I am delighted to be your child's PreKindergarten Teacher this year! 

I have over 25 years of teaching experience within our city of San Antonio, 5 of those years here at NEISD, and 3 years here at Canyon Ridge Elementary. I have also taught children's day learning programs at a Natural History Museum in Bryan, Texas for several years.

I was born in Europe, where I lived in many countries, enjoying all the different languages and cultures. I also grew up, and received my formative years of education there. I graduated from High School here in Texas and began university studies. One of the reasons I love being a certified ESL teacher is that I know what it feels like to be in a new geographic location and not know the language. We managed somehow with our pocket dictionaries, but in these modern days, I of course, have many research-based techniques and strategies to help your child learn the language with fun and with ease. I believe that having lived the experience helps me to be more compassionate when working with my students.

I received my undergraduate education from Texas A&M University, College Station, as well as Incarnate Word College (San Antonio). I studied for and received my Master's of Education degree in Early Childhood, with a minor in Adult Education at The University of the Incarnate Word.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy hiking throughout Texas, various community service projects, arts & crafts, spending time with my family, and working in my backyard garden.

I have taught GT student learning groups K-2 throughout my career.  I also have enjoyed being a UIL Coordinator, a UIL judge, as well as coaching 4th & 5th grade students for UIL for "Maps & Graphs" here at Canyon Ridge and another public school. The children love it immensely as utilizing map skills to problem-solve is becoming almost extinct these days.

I am ready for an exciting and active year of learning with your child, my PK students! I encourage you to bookmark and refer back to my PK Classroom Teacher Page and utilize it as one of your many reliable sources of information on what's happening at Canyon Ridge for your PK student. It will contain info regarding fun & informative events and activities occurring throughout the school year here on campus. We welcome you to become involved and engaged in our Canyon Ridge community.  We are ready for YOU😊!
