Mr. Drew Barton

Howdy Friends,

My name is Drew Barton, and I am very excited to be your Special Education teacher this school year. I am an NEISD graduate from Johnson High School in 2009. I graduated from Angelo State University with an Elementary and Special Education degree in 2013. I got my masters from UTSA with a degree in Educational Leadership in 2020. I am currently working on my Ph.D at Texas Tech University in a focus on Autism.  I worked as an Instructional Teacher assistant for two years. After that, I worked for NISD as a behavior and resource special education teacher for three years. I then started working for SAISD as an ALE teacher, then was promoted to Central Office to work with compliance, behavior  and curriculum support. I coached teachers on how to work with students and modeled how to write IEPs to make sure they were in compliance.  I am looking forward to supporting all students on our campus. I believe that all students can learn and will be successful.  Failure is not an option.
