Margaret Sorrell is from San Antonio and loved the city so much she wanted to pursue her career as a music educator in the city that gave her the dream to begin with. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio earning her Bachelors of Music in Music Studies in 2017. She went on to teach choir at Bernal Middle School and Zachry Middle School in NISD the years following graduation before moving to Harris Middle School in NEISD in 2023. 

Margaret shares her love and passion for music in and outside of the classroom. She works as a singer and handbell choir director for her church as well as sings in community events around the city. Margaret also dedicates time to work as an assistant director for the Texas Childrens Choir, a group of young singers performing as a service to the community, including the annual Veterans Day memorial concerts at Fort Sam Houston and the Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as well as many other events. 

This year will be Ms. Sorrell's 6th year teaching choir and 1st year at Harris Middle School. She is very excited to get to know her students and become a Harris Hawk!
