Congratulations to Kelly Wood, Canyon Ridge’s Trinity Prize for Excellence campus nominee for 2023-2024!
Kelly is our 5th grade ELAR teacher and grade level chair.
This is her sixth year in education and second year at Canyon Ridge Elementary.
“I have truly enjoyed my time at Canyon Ridge and feel like I am part of a community of educators who care about their students and colleagues. In the last 6 years I have realized that teaching is one of the hardest jobs around but I enjoy it more than most. I had so many great teachers throughout my education and I am a reflection of them. I love to convince students that reading is something to be enjoyed, not dreaded. Creating lessons that will engage my apathetic students is my main focus. I also try to make each student feel cared for the moment they walk into my classroom. I want each of my students to leave my classroom with the reading, writing and social skills to be a successful member of society.”
