Congratulations to Stacey Gleinser, our Canyon Ridge Teacher of the Year!
“I began my teaching career 25 years ago in NEISD. I was a classroom teacher for 14 years and have been a librarian for the last 11. I began in education wanting to make a difference for the students who walked into my classroom. My hope was to make my students see learning as a magical experience and to see themselves how I see them, full of potential. My goal over the years has not changed very much. I continue to hope all the students who walk in my doors understand the potential they hold for their future. It was the move to the library that allowed me to work with all of the students and build relationships that span years, and this continues to keep teaching a passion for me. I love watching my little pre k students enraptured by the magic of a book turn into the problem-solving 5th graders who can take on the world, or at least middle school. That is why teaching continues to be my passion.”
