Johnson Students Place at State Japanese Speech Contest #theNEISDway

This is good news in every language! 

Congratulations to the Johnson High School students who recently competed in the 2024 Texas State Japanese Language Speech Competition at Rice University. 

Onyoo Jung (9th grader), Sarah Adeyemi (10th grader), Jacob Duke (10th grader), and Selina Ye (11th grader) all competed in the speech contest as representatives of the San Antonio region against the top two winners from the Austin, Dallas and Houston areas. 

Onyoo Jung finished 1st overall in the Poetry Division, and Sarah Adeyemi placed 1st overall in the Haiku Division.  

Congratulations to these talented students and their dedicated Japanese teacher, Kato Sensei.
