Small workouts with big results

Bulverde Creek parents work out alongside PE Teacher David Smith

Kids aren’t the only ones having fun in the gym at Bulverde Creek Elementary School

Parents are now getting in on the action with PE Teacher David Smith!

This new initiative is connected to the 2024 It’s Time Texas Community Challenge. This free, eight-week statewide health competition involves more than 20,000 Texans across 300 communities. You can earn points for North East ISD and your home campus by reporting daily health habits like drinking water, going for a walk, and eating healthy snacks.

This morning workout group for parents makes it easy to earn points for physical activity and builds a deeper sense of community for everyone involved.

“We started a group with my coworkers which went well, so I reached out to my PTA President and asked if any parents would like to come out and do a series of small workouts,” said Smith. “I am really enjoying the parent participation throughout this challenge, plus you get to meet new people throughout this journey.”
