Jenness Davidson

I am excited to be the Gifted and Talented teacher for Thousand Oaks Elementary Schools.

This is my 25th year in the North East Independent School District. I began my career teaching 5th grade at Redland Oaks Elementary. After taking a few years off to stay home with family, I taught 7th grade at Ed White Middle School. I then went back to Redland Oaks where I taught 3rd and 4th grade Inclusion before moving to a Gifted and Talented position.

I am married and have a Boston Terrier, Harley, who makes me laugh daily.  I enjoy reading, traveling,  hiking, and running competitive 5ks, 10ks, and half marathons. I have also ridden the MS 150.

I was honored to be chosen as the Redland Oaks Elementary Teacher of the Year for the 2011 school year. In 2014, I received the Superintendent's Award. I was also surprised to receive at Thousand Oaks Elementary the Outstanding Teacher Award in 2015. In 2016, I was named Teacher of the Year at Thousand Oaks for the 2017 school year. In 2017, I was honored with the PTA Life Membership. I have also been lucky enough to have received 2 NEEF grants throughout the years.

My goal is to teach children to be critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and to work with students to practice their ability to be leaders.
